DZHK-Studie TOMAHAWK-DZHK4

  • Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest

The initial treatment in survivors of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, who arrive in the emergency department, is unknown in several important aspects. The aim of the present TOMAHAWK trial is to assess whether an immediate coronary angiography may improve the outcome in this subset of patients.

Short information

The TOMAHAWK trial is a prospective, randomized, multi-center study which is supported by the German Center for Cardiovascular Research (DZHK). The trial was initiated at the DZHK site Hamburg/Kiel/Lübeck by Prof. Dr. med. Steffen Desch and Prof. Dr. med. Holger Thiele from the University Heart Center Lübeck and the Heart Center Leipzig.
